With woodcut, striking illustrations from Nikki McClure, and Cynthia Rylant at her understated best: “A day is a perfect piece of time to live a life, to plant seed.” Everything here is so restful and optimistic, this looks like it’s been with us for a very long time, or will be. A bedtime classic then, right there next to When the Wind Stops.
